Hey all,
In the spirit of sharing knowledge and furthering the art, I was wondering if people would be willing to share the DIY and gear acquiring sites they like most, or the ones that have a great boutique quality to them. IE Drivers, Hardware, box designs, etc...
maybe a more up to date company like DDS?

Hi
We recently bought 4 of these to replace the 2241's in our subs.
They boast double the power handling and less p/compression.
Also their x/max is greater than 12mm AND are designed to work
in boxes of less than 6cf.
One more thing..they cost under 400 US. We are very happy with them.
The version 1 was only offered for a short while and then discontinued suddenly. We were told that version 2 was an update
created when the people at WORX got quite interested in the driver.....one should draw their own conclusion here.
Anyone used these?
thanks
Terry Duoos

Hello,
Is there anybody who have done some research about what would
be the simulated excursion of the labdrivers when driven the horns in a group of 4?
Setting up a model in Akabak of a 4-pack of labhorns, the predictions show that the drivers will very fast exceed their maximum excursion (the big peak on +/-30hz).
The predicted frequency response is exactly the same as the picture in the LSP-documentation page, but to me the excursion predictions (like the way Akabak modeling it) does not present the reality.
How does that 0.9V(rms)drive level reflect to a 1watt/1mtr?
Cheers,
Marcel

Song: What You Know About That? By T.I.
I'm impressed everytime I Play it. Try it out. Even if it's not your cup of tea. You'll feel giddy as a schoolgirl that your hard work (Four Labs powered by 2 Ma3600's) can make a sliding glass door jump track from 15 feet away:)

Can someone please explain more about how phase and wavelength is used to find the right "tap" in the horn. Here's and overlay of Danley's TH115 (dark line) and my Labish horn (lighter line). Please do comment.

Hey folks,
I have an old Renkus Heinz SSL18-1P driver from the 80's I think. I'd like to build a cab for it. Does anyone know the TS parameters? I tried the manufacturer but they don't have the specs anymore...
Cheers, - Jon -

Hello all,
I've recently come across a pair of 18sound 18LW1400 drivers, which I acquired from a local sound company that uses them in a Cerwin Vega copy.
I'm planning to build up a system for electronic music, with maybe 4 or 8 subs. I was wondering if there were any suitable folder horn designs around for the 18LW1400's, or if I should just go with labsubs?
Cheers,
Pieter

Anyone know of a Danley Sound Labs dealer in California (hopefully Southern California)? I'm looking to demo and purchase a pair of TH-115 subs.
Thanks
p.s. Before anyone ask, yes I've tried to contact them (DSL) but haven't heard anything yet.

With the driver fully torqued down to the baffle board, and the ali plate torqued down to the gasket/sideboard such that it is flush, what is the clearance between the back of the driver and the inside of the 6mm ali plate ?.
I'm still pondering the best way to wire these suckers - paralleling both drivers to 1+ and 1- of an NL4 wastes half the copper in a 4 core cable, whilst running one driver to 1+ and 1- and the other to 2+ and 2- has the risk of only powering one driver when inadvertantly used with a 2 core speakon. Internally bridging 1+ to 2+ and 1- to 2- on the cab's NL4 would get around that one but present deadly peril to an amp if used with the wrong bridging adaptor. So many options....
BTW I'm happy to find that a LabSub fits through the side door of a Toyota HiAce van with a whole 4mm to spare....some days you win!.
cheers
M
