QSC PLX3402
700wpc @ 8 ohm load
1100 wpc @ 4 ohm load
What would the ouput rating on this amplifier be at a 2.66 ohm load?
How about the current draw at 1/8th power?

Have any Aussie Labsters worked with Entertainment Installations in Brisbane?
And was it a good time?
Feel free to PM.

Anyone here hail from Long Island? Thought it might be cool to arrange a meetup of some kind at a shop or somewhere cool and trade war stories.

I have recently purchased a used ART Tube Preamplifier System (The original model, not TPS II). I was hoping I could get some advise on what levels to run mics through this box. Since it is a tube amp do you run the levels the same as you would with a solid state preamp or do you run them hotter pushing the needles more into the red? I have purchased and installed a 12AU7 EH low noise tube in place of the factory tube. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

OK I would like to build a IFB ant. The store bought one we have is a PVC tube 2 inch dia and 18 inch tall. Then a ant on top of that 12 inch. What is in the tube is what we need to know? I have built the pringle can ants before using allthread.
Looks kind of like this

Hi,
I came across this free beta software from Orban. It is used to display "loudness". This is not a spl meter. Look at the Technology link for more information. It might be a useful thing to have, if you feed out to TV people from FOH.

Does anyone know if the Sabine PMR-HH2 is available yet. It is supposed to be the Pro version of the PMR-HH1. It is an Optogate type product that has a gate and some kind of AGC/compressor. I used the PMR-HH1 model and it worked quite well but it did colour the sound alot. I mix a band that has seven vocal mics on stage and with backing vocalists on ears they get a lot of bleed. It would also take care of the musos who only sing occassionaly. I believe the pro version is around $149 which could be the answer.
Is anyone a dealer or know if they are available
Thanks as always
Paul

Just been mucking around with the Soundcraft VI6 beta version 3 software.
All is good in the version 3 world!!
Automation is now finished but for the cross fade time function...and I have to say is very well laid out and extremely easy to use.
The console can now run 96 inputs from up to 6 stage racks:)
MIDI is now functional and I've run the automation system off time code with great success!
I also like that they have put gain reduction meters below the buss output meters on the master screen....nice touch.
anyone else had a play?

I have an RSS M-400 console that I just found out one of the faders is sticking when it goes to move. When pushed up and down with my finger, it feels "sticky" in some spots. When I change layers to have it go full up to full down, it sticks at the top and bottom 1/2" of travel, makes a grinding noise like the motor is trying really hard, and finally gets to its position.
Is there anything I can spray in there or do to fix this, without sending the console in for repair? Nothing has ever been spilled on the console, it's kept in a nice Calzone case, and the fader hasn't been hit or abused in any way. It was working fine at the last show.

As of today there is a 24 hour limit for editing your posts. After 24 hours the edit button will no longer appear. This should be plenty of time to find and change errors, or to clarify what you meant to say. The new behavior will be in all of the Live SR forums.

I've bought several cases from Barry Cases in St. Louis over the years. I've been e-mailing and calling all week to get quotes for more and can't reach them. Anyone here know what's going on with them?

Hi Guys.
I know this is a Live forum but ....
This year is Cadac's 40th anniversary, (we're still here while the bank figure a few things out) and so I'm researching the early years for a new Cadac heritage web site. Anyone that has any information or worked in the recording studios back then (1966 onwards) I'd appreciate any stories, news, and/or pictures. Basically from the start when Clive was at Olympic studios, through to desks going into Morgan, Olympic, Lansdowne, Scorpio, Trident, Roundhouse, Townhouse, SARM etc. Which engineers recorded which bands/tracks on the desks, where the desks are now (I've found a few, and will try to do a family tree of owners). Obviously I'm talking to Clive and some of the famous tapeops/engineers/producers from that time.
I have a great picture of John Lydon and Tim Friese-Green sitting at the Cadac in Wessex, and I'm sure Chris has some "interesting" stories to tell including recording Parisienne Walkways.
A Cadac is being installed in the newly refurbished Ronnie Lane Mobile as we speak, more news on that to follow, and later this year we'll have a new product range of the classic and heritage mic pre-amps and EQs.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please call or email me.
Many thanks,
Mark
