I will not be purchasing or recommending any Shure product for any application until you take your hunk of dogshit excuse for RF PGX series off of the market. I am sick and tired of dealing with it. I realize you're only trying to compete with the other dogshit excuses for RF in the same price range, but, in my opinion, your PGX series has completely ruined your once good name. Slapping the "Shure" name on a chinese made hunk of dogshit does not make said hunk of dogshit suck less.
The PGX series is a pain in the ass to use, it has this horrid distortion/compression to it, gain before feedback is about 5 db, and the backup singers that are using the Sennheisers cut right through the mix and walk all over the lead vocalist using a PGX.
Sennheiser and Audio Technica thank you. While you continue to wallow in mediocrity, they have developed far superior units that only cost a few more dollars, and even kick your top of the lines' butt. The real musicians are catching on, and they are ditching your products in favor of the afformentioned units.
I will not rest until the PGX series resides only in karaoke bars and DJ rigs.
Sincerely,
Michael Strickland

Since our new acquisition of the LS9 I have to say I have been disappointed with its lack of track incrementing on the recording feature. It's a little inconvenient to have to sift through a 1:40 recording to get where you want. So far I have resigned to using a couple of omni outs to send to an outboard recorder. Kind of makes the internal unit a little useless, right? So today I was messing around with the console UDF section and I notice that you can set up a UDF to "autorecord". What's this...? Nothing in the manual about it that I could find. Turns out that it is essentially a track increment button. Granted it takes about two seconds out of the recording, but it sure is easier than all of the other buttons and knobs to get the same result. NICE!
Just thought I'd share that with anyone who may be interested. Kind of makes me wonder what other features aren't in the manual.

I need to build a distro that can convert from 3 phase to single phase, and still keep the loads somewhat balanced. I have a job coming up, where they only have a single phase incoming service, it breaks to a 400 amp disconnect, and I have 3 phase distro's for the rig I'm using. I know I can just t tap the last leg, but that really is going to set off an imbalance like to the tune of over 160 amps differential.
I don't really think this is the wisest in this case. I was thinking I once saw a 4 bus (3rd was a 2 part) main panel, where the z and y were normal, and the z had 2 bus hots tied together like z-a and z-b, when used in the 3 phase, it was like z/y/z-a+z-b. When used in single phase it was configured like x+z-a and the other leg was y+z-b. Confused, I'm not, just not sure how to go about this, other than cutting the 3rd bus rail, then coupling them together using a large capacity switch or contactor. (key locked of course). Any ideas, or am I over thinking this. I don't use 220volt for anything, so it's just a matter of doing the third leg swap.

Does anybody have any real world experience with the new AKG IVM 4 monitor system? I am looking to upgrade from the psm600's. I really like the psm600's, just can't handle the frustration of only having 2 freq's per unit. I really like the fact that this has a DBX compressor already built it, so it will save me 4 rack spaces. How are the eq presets?

Hello again
im looking for someone in the LA area with a pm1d I can play with. Yamaha does not have anything scheduled for it. I might be picking up a touring that makes a few stops at venues that have PM1d's. I dont need any formal training just would like to get my hands on one. if anyone has one or knows anyone who has one let me know. another option is if there is a yamaha dealership that has one set up for demos that would be cool. thanks

11 bands, 2 stages, 4 hours = no worries with these guys and their crew. Thanks for the easy night at the Medina Entertainment Center in MN.
Even busier stages today and tomorrow. I'm sure it will be just as smooth.

Fellas,
I just wanted to reiterate my very favorable impression of the IAS RF Coordination software from Professional Wireless Systems.
Once again, it portrayed me as an RF genius. I resorted to only one spare frequency all weekend.
http://www.professionalwireless.com/ias/index.aspx
Below is a printout of the reconstructed coordination.

Even though the Video Icom frequencies were not supposed to work, they did. I take this to mean that the default settings within the program err on the safe side. Reality was better than the theoretical in this case.
FWIW, I paid list for the software.

So, we installed a QSC ILA series into a church. Configured the system with theSC28. According the actual specs, I can figure out that the unit is a tuned crossover and eq specifically for QSC gear. I don't fully understand what QSC did to make the SC28 more efficient than adding a DBX Driverack 260 except that it is tuned for the QSC gear.
I can't RTA the room with the SC28, so how is it possible for me to properly tune a system to a room with it?

Does anyone have a solution for keeping the ethernet connectors plugged in to their P3000 amps?
Some of ours are siliconed in and it doesn't seem to help much. I'm getting fed up having to solve canbus issues because one ethernet connection has come unplugged somewhere in 6 or 8 amp racks.
The females connections on the amps have the spot for the tabs on the males to click into, so they don't lock.

Neutrik popped this out in a press release a couple of months ago or so. I thought that with some time there might be another shoe dropping on that potentially useful product to I sat back and waited but nothing else has surfaced. The documentation isn't explicit as to the inlet versus outlet designation of the cable end versus panel mount. Does any one know if Neutrik has plans to complete this set of products into a full connector system? Is it solely a high current solution for appliance inlets such as dimmers and power amps with the appliance manufacturers left to their own devices ( snicker ) for terminating the other end of the cable?

I frequently use delayed satellite speakers (JBL SRX712m’s) up on tripods when I do sound for festivals. I have rented stanchions and plastic safety chain to cordon off the immediate area around the tripods if they need to be located in the middle of public accessible areas.
Has anyone priced out even the cheapest of these stanchions lately? Wow!! Talk about cost prohibitive. The other day, I realized that I owned about two dozen old Atlas 10c and 12c round-based mic stands that I rarely use anymore. Sure enough, I popped some butterfly mic clips on them, bought some inexpensive, lightweight plastic safety chain and walla… homemade stanchions. Don’t sell or throw away those old mic stands...they make great stanchions!
