Still rather have an extension cord w/outlets, but that's the best alternative I've seen so far.

Steve,
How about these:

I use a similar splitter for LED lighting. Works great for very low amperage loads.
Hope this helps,

Does anybody know of any "Green" certification that is relevant to the AV Design/Integration industry? I am interested in pursuing some type of certification that allows me to certify systems as "Green". Are there any A/V manufacturers that are certifying their products as green? I have looked into LEED certification but this only seems relevant to complete building certification. I do AV Design mainly for Corporate and Commercial installation's. Most of these are new buildings but some are retools of existing systems.
Is LEED the only way to go?

Revisited an install this week. Been very tired as the 2yr old is sick and we aren't getting much sleep.
So its gotta be an obvious solution I hope.
Mixer - snake - make up point - installed mic cable runs to floor pockets in stage.
I am not getting phantom power on 2 channels of the floor pockets.
A regular SM58 works fine in those channels but a condenser mic does not. (so all I can guess is that its not getting phantom power)
Plugging the condenser mic directly into the mixing board works.
I've checked the connector at the board end of the snake - its wired correctly. I checked the wires at the make up point - good tight connections and wired correctly. Pulled the floor pockets up and they are wired correctly.
Again, I was very tired but I'd swear everything was matched up to the correct pins but thats what HAS TO BE my problem here right?
When I plug a SM58 into these two floor pocket channels I do not get a buzz or hum. Pristine audio.
IF I had pin 1 and 2 backwards in the chain, wouldn't it buzz?
What have I overlooked?
Thanks gang - I gotta get some sleep sometime soon or Im gonna die. HAHA!

If pin 1 is open, phantom mics won't work...

If you have a cable that will work on everything but 48v usage I'll bet you can hear RF in its channel if you put a hot source next to the cable. Broken shield, RF problems. Don't ask me why I think this.

There are bands from time to time but they have their own PA. As far as budget is concerned, I'm willin to shell out some dough for some good speakers, but I'd like to be reasonable. A 50K sound sytem in a 4000sqft country bar sounds like overkill to me. I've got a DBX compressor/gate....that's what you mean by DSP eh?
Goals - sound good with most country music and still capable of providing some thump for the hip-hop (younger crowd on friday and sat nights).
Mostly country and old rock played throughout the week and then quite a bit of rap on weekend nights.

it depends how you are trying to BE "green"
simply telling customers that you are aware of LEED and then outlining what you can do to help them in becoming LEED certified may be all you need.
or are you trying to convince customers that you are green around the shop?

I am interested in getting some personal "Green" certification that would qualify me to design "Green" systems.

Agreed, "Green" seems to be much more a marketing and general concept than any specific criteria or certification. At least I am not aware of anything other than LEED certification and even then there is currently really nothing AV can typically do towards getting LEED points for a building's certification.

Hi Ben,
I've got my Mixwiz case on ebay right now. Check article number 220339544897. It's in German, but the pictures are pretty self explanatory. I'm with the Army so can ship to the states for ~$20.
Ciao
