I got the news about this tonight while I was mixing a show...and I still can't wrap my head around it. I have admittedly been a huge DMB fan since their very very early days, but LeRoi has always been my favorite. Even growing up as a drummer and trying to learn EVERY drum groove off of their albums, it was always LeRoi's sax playing that drew me into the music.
We have lost a ridiculous number of GREAT people this past month, but this one really stings for me. The highlight of their live shows for me was always LeRoi playing the meanest Bari Sax ever....no one can get that funky on a Bari!
