Isn't that fascinating !
Funny thing: myself and about 30 other north American consultants, along with perhaps another 18 from Asia, were shown approximatley 8-12 stadii and smaller venues scattered around Athens with loudspeaker systems from EV, plus various equipment from Midas, Dynacord, KT, etc. We all looked real close to make sure these weren't really Bose products that had their emblems changed.
So it turns out that, interestingly enough, EV makes long throw/ Hi-Q devices (actually quite a few) that were deemed appropriate for these high profile installations, as well as a slew of smaller and lower-Q devices that they make. What are the odds that another company would be allowed to be near the presence of such advanced Bose systems ?
I seem to recall that there were a few other speaker manufacturers that managed to sneak in the back door, as well.
Go figure.
BTW - the above was written on my own and was not copy & pasted from EV's website.

Look, Robert, if you're gonna quote Bose (or any other vendor) marketing drivel, at least indicate such in an obvious manner.
Your post was less than worthless.

I really wonder if that system was tuned right. I just Installed 4 MA-12's and 2 MB4's in a spanish catholic church and it was nice for their bass line, guitars and vocals. The MA-12's were able to provide a clear sound across the church even when people were standing.
Yes the MA-12's are middy, but I think that is what makes them work in highly reverberant rooms. They are sure clear, even with spanish speakers.
In Most of my installs, I don't install 802's I haven't even heard them. I hear they are a lot fatter then MA-12's

So you didn't use MB-24's for subs? or were those not out yet? I've heard the Bose LT series (the big speakers) are fairly new?

Andy, If you look at the bottom of my post you will see that I included a link to the source.
|
And that link at the bottom was in the same typeface and same style as the rest of the post.
By "obvious manner," I meant: at the top of the post, you should have written, "The following article, written by Bose, was published at (link to website)."
This makes it clear that the subsequent text is marketing information, not your original text.

No, actually, I am as helpful as possible to the acts that play at my venue, to the point of spending soundcheck time to explain to a keyboardist why the compressor her band just bought won't protect their speakers. Or fixing broken gear between soundcheck and the show.

That's just silly.

If you mean the horn-loaded 2-way LT devices, they have been out since the early 1990's when Bose bought them from (and the design talents of) Cliff Hendricksen who is still on their engineering staff. The LT horns originated as extremely light-weight composite shell enclosures but are now made from plywood.
