Another interesting install [message #314489]

Here is another interesting install. What were they thinking? Maybe there is a birds nest that needs coverage.

Sorry for the quality of the photo-camera phone.

Basically it is a small Bose pointed into the rafter/ceiling.

It could not have slipped as the mounting bracket sets the vertical coverage.

Oh well.

You know Bose used the direct/reflected concept for some of their speakers, maybe this is just the larger scale version of that!

Ya know, that 4" speaker really added "DA BASS". Very Happy

Maybe that speaker was hooked only to a reverb send. Rolling Eyes

ALl the other loudspeakers were facing the people. It is in a speech-special effects playback type situation. No reverb added.

It is an interesting thought, to achieve a more "diffuse" reverb sound, but I think that line of thinking would be well above the above system design. Laughing

Was it near a bar, POS terminal hostess station or phone? Many times the crew will turn around or block off offending speakers that interfere with their daily (already annoying enough) job. Especially if its the same playlist over-and-over!

Actually it was at a live performance venue-the wild west show at Six Flags in Atlanta.

Bose 802's handled the main PA duties. And from where I was seated, they worked just fine. Very Happy

I just saw a similar "install" where some EV SXA250's were put in a small 100 cap room with about a 15' ceiling, each box placed almost at the ceiling, with NO downward angle whatsoever. 4 boxes in opposing corners of the room just firing sound at each other instead of the patrons. To say it sounded rubbish is an understatement. Sad

At least in Ivan's case it wasn't the entire system hung like that.....
