Wondering if anyone has come up with a way to transport Vray top boxes with a cart or rolling base, or something without going to full blown cases and breaking the bank. How are you stacking and loading in truck or trailer too? I have some ideas but don't want to re-invent the wheel if someone has something that works good and is not too costly. (pictures would be great too)

Our JBL VRX932s travel on 22.5 x 30 dolly sets stacked two high. Very handy truck pack plus finding storage for the emptys is a snap. We have a dozen loose dollys as well as those dedicated to the VRX and SRX speakers with sandwich boards and straps so that just about any collection of small cases can become a standard pack. Very flexible system - just be sure to secure them at the show. They become popular items with bands and other crews. We stain ours brown wood grain and router our logo into the wood to make them a bit more obvious.

The soft covers are a big part of the trick. The added labor time in dealing with the straps and the covers is more than made up by the labor savings in finding case storage and moving deads to the storage space. We don't do many shows where the empties can simply be piled back stage.

Who or where did you have made the softcases/padding for the speakers....???

In addition to our logo we make a point of having our covers be something other than black. They are less likely to get lost in dark corners where they so often seem to wind up even when we make a point of stowing them in empty feeder and motor cases during set up.

no pics, its a enclosed caster board that the VR 112's slide down into and the top flybar is left exposed, 3 cabinets per side, facing each other. There covered on all sides and protected from bumps and bashes. Black paint, Colson casters, Birch plywood...Lined with Black tuff cloth to prevent scuffs and marks while loading. The top is left open so as you attach the fly bar and lift out three, you then slide the bottom three under insert pins and lift the rest out, Putting them back is the same, simply insert your pins into the top frame for storage.

Finally came up with a cart for our PV Versarrays that works for us...if anyone is interested pics are here...

Simple yet effective...the cardboard edge protectors are from U-Line for protecting pallet corners...they work well...

Pretty good, considering the large base and casters. The only issue is we wish the casters had brakes on them, but had to go with these from ebay since they were found at a great deal. If we are only using one set of 3, the other set just gets secured to the cart and put back in the truck...the carpeting protects the cabinets well. I sometime push them and then hop on and ride to the destination if we have enough room and concrete...they go thru grass ok, due to the large wheels...

Oh no, it's got dummy wheels on the back. Say it ain't so. Good looking design otherwise.
Maybe you can find a way to thread the straps through the corner protectors so they don't get lost.... oh, now I see the safety cable keeping it captive. Good one.
The only other thing I'd add is a way to strap one stack of three in and leave it connected, then have a separate strap for the other side. It may be that way, it's hard for me to tell from the pictures, but the same cup tie off that you use at the bottom could also be used at the top.

Yes, dummys are us. In hindsight all should have been wheels that turn...the idea about the strapping separate is good. I will implement that. Will save us from worrying about one stack falling off while we are trying to fly the other...
