I want to start herding people toward the Lounge for beginner type stuff. Yes, it's much like herding cats.
I can't read every post/thread. Anyone wishing to report a thread as "belonging in the Lounge" is welcome to do so. I will look at it and if I think it belongs there, it will be moved.
Obviously, there are no hard and fast rules regarding this so don't expect something to be moved automatically.
Thanks to everyone for your input and assistance. Let's try to breathe some "pro" back into the LAB and use the Lounge to help newbies.

This is a condensed version of the FAQ:
1. We're moving back to real names.
2. No commerce. No WTB, FS, FA, or any pointers back to oneself for the purpose of selling something.
It's OK to ask how much something costs ("what's usual street price on a Verona"), but don't ask where to buy a console.
It's OK to ask for a source for parts, etc.
It's NOT OK to say "hey, I have some of those, call me at......" Contact the inquiring poster by private messaging. We're all for capitalism, but not on the board itself. Take it to the back channels.
3. If you work for a manufacturer or a rep firm, you may not start a thread for the purposes of promoting a product. In fact, regarding your own products, the rule of thumb is "speak only when spoken to" meaning feel free to answer questions in an objective fashion. Tech support is always welcome.
4. Keep in mind many of the biggest players in the business read this board but do not post. This includes manufacturers, touring companies (the big boys), and AV companies. Act accordingly. You may want to work for them some day.
5. No religion, no politics.
It's that simple.....
