Should Get Out More

Can anybody tell me where I can buy used lekos in Ontario? I’ve sent emails to Christie Lites and have received no response.

Hi Ian.

That's out of the ordinary; Christie are one of the best with returning emails/messages. They did move to a new office/warehouse fairly recently; don't know if that slowed things down.

I might know of some old Strand Canata 18/32 zooms that should be available by the end of May (once we get delivery of our new fixtures). What are you looking for specifically? I think we still have some Par64s if you are interested in those too.

Should Get Out More

I’m looking for front lighting that won’t obliterate my rear PAR washes. Currently I run 16x PAR56 (300w) and 8x PAR64 (500w) on a back truss with 4x PAR64 (500w) at each front stage corner (roughly, depending on gig - I try to get the stands "out a ways" when I can). When I use the front PARs with any brightness, they just splatter light all over. I recently had my rig in a theatre where they had S4’s out front and it was real nice being able to control the beam so that it didn’t wash out everything in sight. So I figure I’d pick up a few ellipsoids and run them in front. I figure 3 per side oughta do it for now (and I’ll still keep a few front PARs for darker mood washes). I do lotsa small-town stuff, mainly festivals & fairs, with the odd national coming though.

I guess any ellipsoids would do. Since this isn’t my main job I don’t want to buy new (well, I DO, but can’t afford to Laughing

)… hence the query about used lekos. So if you have any to sell, I’ll surely consider them. If you could PM me when you know I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
