Those aren't just standard scanners, they're technobeams. Still a very competitive fixture, imo. And damn reliable and durable. Will require less maintenance than any martin ever built and amDJ, chauvet, etc can't even compare as far as build quality.

| How can CO2 replace the air, but not nitrogen? They are both gases that are filling the space, and changing the oxygen to inert gas ratio. They both entail the same dangers in a small environment. Neither is poisonous, but both decrease the amount of available oxygen.

Maybe the poster was thinking of Carbon Monoxide (where nitrogen would be safer... but not necessarily safe)? Any gas introduced into an enclosed space will have the potential to be deadly. Adding a non-toxic inert gas will reduce the fraction of oxygen in the air, and thus decrease the partial pressure of oxygen in each breath. Addition of large amounts of oxygen could potentially lead to Oxygen toxicity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_toxicity). Basically, if the space is small, be careful how much gas (other than air) you pump into the space.
