I'll echo what others have mentioned. XTi amps do not play nice at 4ohm bridged and the meters are useless at that impedence. You'll think you are fine because the meter is only lit up to -20. Then all of a sudden for no apparent reason the clip light comes on skipping right over the -10 light. Twice I've blown a 12" driver no matter how careful I was. The last time I disconnected half the cabinets after the driver blew so now the amps were running 8ohms bridged. I then could get more level out of the system and the amps performed flawlessly.

I sent this to a friend who has been using XTi4000's bridged on 4 Ohm subs for a while. He said that his did the same thing (except for the blown drivers part), but updating the firmware seemed to solve it.

Im gonna have to try the firmware update.

Had a channel of mine go out last year - crown fixed it (or replaced it. I didnt check.)
But I need to see what version is on there.

Ran it today stereo at 4 ohms per side and it kept a solid 3 green LEDs on each side.. but the left side kept tossing a red out from time to time.. even though the board was not in the red. (nor was the driverack - which DOES have the latest firmware)
