Scovi says he _might_ be able to do a session in the first week of July, and then again in November.
This is all very preliminary, but I think we will have at least one session next year. Keep your eyes on the web site and on this forum.
For sure, it will be in Tempe, AZ at CRAS. Not sure exactly what days of the week it will be, but I'm pretty sure I will do a Smaart 101 the day before class so neophytes can get up to speed, at least enough to get more from the class.
We're also considering throwing line array theory and application in the class, and Scovi really wants to do something re: digital mixers. I'm not sure how that will play out, but just ask anyone who has attended previously and I'm sure you can be certain it will be well worth the effort.
I imagine we'll wrap up, as before, with him mixing live tracks while demonstrating very clearly what he is doing, why he is doing it, and what he is trying to accomplish.
That's all the info I have right now. Suffice it to say
1. There's a decent chance we'll have a class in Tempe the first week in July
2. There's also a decent chance we'll have a class in Tempe sometime in November.
that is all......

You name it, I'll be there, Doug. Just make sure it doesn't conflict with the SynAudCon stuff in the second week of July. November, frankly, would be better, but either way I'll make every effort to be there.

Hey Scovi,
I would love to see some moderately advanced "making multiple sound sources play well together" sort of stuff... how to build subwoofer arrays, align subs to mains, splay line arrays, etc. I'm especially interested in your thoughts on flying, aiming, and shading/EQing/whatever line array systems, since I've certainly got a pretty shaky idea of how that hybrid beast operates and I don't exactly think of myself as a non-advanced user, so there's got to be a lot of doubt out there (although aiming programs help a lot!).
Also, what Bink said. Quick and dirty techniques to make that vocal pop out, and How To Mix Quiet (for the love of God).

Thanks for the interest in this seminar. Just to give you (and Chip and Doug) a heads up -- the first session is tentatively planned for the first week of JUNE. I accidentally had my trip to Montreux Jazz in Switzerland scheduled in June but it is actually in July. So --- seminar early in JUNE and looking to do a second in November.

And anyone who comes out to Tempe for the seminar should spend a couple of days here in Tucson. Yeah, it'll be hot, but not nearly as bad as Phoenix, and all of the resorts offer ridiculously low off-season rates.
A get-together at the Hotel Congress Tap Room sounds like a good idea to me.
